The bond that never was.......

Posted by: Unknown in

We're never satisfied with what we have; whether it be monetary, materialistic or in love. We either crave for more, for better or for something completely opposite of what we possess. Its pride to be called unsatisfied !
A couple had an arrange marriage. Two years after marriage, the lady Tdelivered a baby girl. It was an event of joy for them- the first child of the family. As any stereotype Indian parents would do, they too dreamt for a bright future of their child.
Five years later, they had another baby girl- this time too a very happy situation. They were glad to see their fair, hazel eyed, chubby daughter, who was just as the girls described in nursery rhymes. But someone wasn't satisfied. Wondering who ? Their first child. The five year old girl had made up her mind that she would have a brother.
She wasn't unhappy to see a baby girl in her mother's arms, but something saddened her. That night she prayed to God, " Oh God Almighty! I don't mind having a sister. But who will take care of her?" She felt scared. At that very time she wished some miracle to occur so that she could find an elder brother. She, being the eldest always wished someone older than her to be present alongwith her.
Her sister approached her to find solutions, to borrow books, to request her to convince their parents to permit her for whatever reason, to defend and so on. But the elder also expected the same. Who would she look up to? Who would she ask for help?
She felt deprived. Her friends often spoke of how they had a fight with their brother, their demand for gagets, the fun time they had together, jokes cracked, the protection they received, how secure they felt and the secrets they shared.
Life went on, she entered college. She made friends she would never forget. Especially RB. He was a reflection of her virtual brother, in REALITY. But like people hesitate while proposing, she too couldn't gather courage to tell him what she felt about him. What stopped her, even she doesn't know. But she just couldn't speak.
Then she met Sid at a trip. Barely spent time with him, but experienced the same emotion, felt her brother was standing before her. Crazy!!!
She still believes a miracle will happen! She's gonna find her brother. hahhaha. Knowing that its not gonna happen. What a waste! Go on..... Dream. Dream.....
Of happy times, of cracking jokes, of crying on his shoulder, of asking for help, of making a coffee for him, of teasing him with his girlfriend, of choosing his clothes, stealing his gadgets, riding on a bike with him,
......................................Of tying a rakhee and demanding more than what he gives,

......................................Of dancing at his wedding.

Just Dream..........................
